You Might Be Wondering...
You might be wondering why this blog is so neglected. It's so neglected because we don't need it anymore now that we have Barbara, the oh-so-wonderful webmaster for the Cascade Zydeco website. The blog will stay here as a place to hang our photo album, but look at the real deal website for all the newz that's fit to print.

2008 Cascade Zydeco Dance Camp

Whooee! What a weekend! Visit the photos in the CZ blog album and the many, many more (and attractively edited) photos taken by Barbara Wertz that are linked to the Cascade Zydeco site.
We had more than 80 dancers from all over the USA and a couple from Canada learning fancy footwork (from Michael Seider) and fancy hipwork (from Flory Katz), hot zydeco music from Brian Jack and the Zydeco Gamblers (who had to evacuate from Houston ahead of Hurricane Ike before boarding their plane to Portland), a Sunday afternoon with Too Loose Cajun Band, great weather and food, swimming, hiking, and just hanging out with new and old friends.

Hot, Hot, Hot

The 2008 Cascade Zydeco Picnic was nothin' but hot -- hot weather, hot burgers and dogs, hot tunes. Oh, and cold tubs for dipping your hot self between dances. Many thanks to Ralph for opening his strange and wonderful home for a great party complete with a cruise-ship-load of games and great music (and an open ended invitation to stay until the cows came home, which they did not do until well after 10 pm). Business was done: We conducted our annual meeting as per Uncle Sam and conferred the Golden Gator 2008 mantle upon the worthy Dick Brainard (where were the cameras?). Check out the photo album for picnic pictures!
